If I told you I went to a tropical paradise only to spend three days writhing in bed with painful stomach cramps, you’d assume I’d never wish to return.
thanks Brian! yeah funny enough this piece was going to be called "Bali gives people second chances" because that was the original inspiration, then I later decided to broaden it up a bit
thanks man, I loved it too. Ended up going twice (the only place I double-dipped while traveling). Curious, what part of the island did you go to this time?
This reminds me of my trip to Thailand. I love this part you wrote about "I’m seeing so much. I’m feeling so much." That is exactly how I felt. I often wonder why it is that I never felt this way living suburbs in the states. Also I am curious is it also just easier to just struck up random conversations in Bali than in the States or it is pretty much the same?
So so vivid 🔥
Nice piece Tobi! I love the part about the second chances and the allure of possibility that these types of places provide.

The universe is screaming DO IT. My stomach is in butterflies for you!
haha it really was screaming in my face. So loud and clear, I couldn't have escaped it if I tried
Takes me back to my grad trip in Thailand. Really felt like I was there all over again
wish we knew each other back then, would've been a trip to experience that together
