I recently joined the Substack community and I can already feel the warmth here. I recently followed you out of curiousity and permit me to say I sorta like it here. Although I've been blogging and writing for years, I was seeking my writing sanity amidst the social media chaos. I love the feeling of thriving in a community that 'gets' you. This led me to leaving Mailchimp and finally settling here and I hope I get to connect with more amazing people on this platform. Thanks for the warm welcome. As for Oppenheimer, I haven't seen it yet, but it's a Nolan movie so I like to take my time.
Welcome Itunu! Glad you're feeling the warmth and loving the community so far. If you haven't had a chance, I recommend checking out the Weekly Office Hours on Thursday where you can connect with other writers and the substack team as well. I took a peek at your website and saw you have a ton of books out. Congrats!
I haven’t had oysters in years and not especially since becoming kosher. But I used to go to New Orleans and there’s something special about being 21, stumbling down Bourbon Street, slurping oysters with crackers and hot sauce. But those days are behind me..
I’m totally taking you up on these free 20 mins. We might have to book 2 in a row ;)
oh man, I haven't been to New Orleans but every story I hear about that place makes me want to make it happen. If I ever make it out there, I'll try to get some oysters for the story.
I love oysters but unfortunately I get sick every time I eat them. I’m so happy we had a chance to connect virtually and highly recommend a conversation with you to anyone :)
This is a lovely post and idea, with great intentions! Thank you for mentioning me. I've definitely enjoyed reading and recommending your writing, and being a small part of your growing community.
Awww Tobi!!! I’m sooo stoked to be a little part of the magical community you’re building here!! I’m definitely going to have to snag 20 minutes of your time one of these weeks!

I love this idea, Tobi! It's been such a delight meeting you through prose but would be good to have an old fashioned Zoom. Booked my 20 min. :)
Excited to get to meet you Alicia!!
