Technology products are embedded with ethical ideas. Whether or not you openly discuss and acknowledge them doesn’t change their existence. Robinhood’s mission to “democratize finance” is an extension of the belief that everyone should be able to invest in financial assets.
At the end you talk about the ease of pushing out experiments without oversight. Do you think tech companies should implement some sort of institutional experiment review like they have in academia/medicine?

I think it depends. I don't want tech to become slow to the point that we can't innovate with speed. But there are probably some product areas where certain experiments should not be allowed. Companies do some of this filtering today. Obviously, not all experiments can be pushed out. But what happens when the company reviewers have a blind spot? Do we accept that as the tradeoff for speed? Or is there some other way we can reduce the prevalence of such experiments going into the world and causing problems?
